Scope of this policy
This Privacy Policy applies to BoatOwner Hub pages and tools. It does not govern Amazon, an email provider, a product manufacturer, another retailer or any other external website. Those services publish and control their own privacy practices.
Information we may receive
Email messages
If you send a message, we receive the email address, name and other information you include. The contact form prepares a message in your email app; it does not submit the form to a BoatOwner Hub database.
Newsletter requests
The newsletter form also opens your email app. We receive your address only if you choose to send that email. Until a dedicated mailing service is introduced, newsletter requests are handled through email.
Technical request data
Our hosting and security providers may automatically process an IP address, browser or device type, requested page, timestamps, referring page and similar log information needed to deliver and protect the site.
On-device checklist data
When you use an interactive checklist, completed items may be stored in your browser’s local storage. BoatOwner Hub does not receive that checklist progress.
Do not email passwords, payment-card numbers, government identification, medical records or other sensitive personal information.
How information is used
Information may be used to:
- Respond to questions, corrections, feedback and business inquiries
- Process a newsletter request or unsubscribe request
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve the website
- Investigate misuse, broken links or technical problems
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and protect legitimate rights
BoatOwner Hub does not sell personal information. We do not use information submitted by email to build advertising profiles.
Cookies and local browser storage
BoatOwner Hub’s interactive maintenance checklist uses local storage so your completed items can remain available on the same browser and device. Local storage is different from sending that information to our server. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser.
At the date shown above, BoatOwner Hub does not run a separate third-party analytics or behavioral-advertising tag on these pages. Essential hosting and security systems may still use technical mechanisms needed to deliver and protect the site. If our use of analytics, advertising or consent-dependent cookies changes materially, this policy and any required controls will be updated.
Amazon affiliate links, images and external services
BoatOwner Hub participates in the Amazon Associates Program. Some pages contain tagged links to Amazon, and some product images may be delivered directly from Amazon-controlled servers. When your browser requests externally hosted content—or when you click an external link—the external provider may receive technical information such as your IP address, browser details, referring page and request time.
If you continue to Amazon, Amazon may use cookies or similar technologies and will handle activity under its own terms and privacy notice. BoatOwner Hub does not receive your Amazon password, payment-card number, complete order record or account credentials. Read our Amazon Affiliate Disclosure for information about commissions.
Other external links may lead to manufacturers, government resources or service providers. Review the destination site’s privacy information before submitting personal data.
Retention, sharing and security
Retention
Email correspondence is kept only as long as reasonably needed to answer the message, maintain relevant business or editorial records, resolve disputes or meet legal obligations. Technical logs are retained according to the hosting or security provider’s operational settings.
Sharing
Information may be processed by providers that support hosting, security and email delivery. It may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect rights or safety, or investigate misuse. We do not authorize service providers to use information for unrelated purposes.
Security
Reasonable measures are used to reduce unauthorized access, loss or misuse. No internet transmission, email system or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. You may also withdraw a newsletter request or ask not to receive future messages.
Send a request to contact@boatownerhub.com. Describe the request and the email address involved. We may need to verify that you control that address before completing a request. We will respond as required by applicable law.
You can control local checklist data through your browser, and you can choose not to click external or affiliate links.
Children’s privacy
BoatOwner Hub is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly request personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it when appropriate.
International visitors
Hosting, email and external service providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Privacy and data-protection rules may differ between jurisdictions. By contacting us or using an external service, information may be transferred as necessary to provide that service, subject to applicable law and the provider’s safeguards.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when site features, service providers or legal requirements change. The “Last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented on this page before or when they take effect, as appropriate.
